WV TBI Services address the needs of West Virginians with traumatic brain injuries by connecting individuals to resources, delivering education and training, and collaborating with partners to improve systems of care statewide.
Vision
To improve the quality of life for West Virginians with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) at both the individual and systemic levels. We serve as a bridge between all who make up the TBI community.
What Is TBI?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) as a disruption in the normal function of the brain that can be caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head, or penetrating head injury (near-drowning in WV).

- A TBI may lead to short- or long-term health problems.
- A TBI during childhood may affect brain development.

Alive to Thrive
In partnership with the MoCrazy Strong Brain Injury Foundation, Alive to Thrive West Virginia is an annual two-day event that connects individuals with brain injury, families, professionals, and community partners.

We invite individuals with traumatic brain injury, families, providers, and community members to participate in public meetings and help guide the future of TBI services in West Virginia.
